Media, Hidden Agenda and Politics in Malaysia

Malaysia

Media in Malaysia.

Be it government-funded or private, it seems like they are only telling good stories about the government and nuthing else. If you are studying Mass Communication, there is something being called media ethics. In simple words, one of the ethics is always tell the truth! Why make up stories to cover up all the politician's wrongdoings? I don't intend to be locked up in the ISA but lately, I hate watching primetime news on Malaysian TV's. Don't you think most of the stories are bullshit? Come on media people! You are carrying out a huge responsibility in telling people what they need to know, NOT what the government wants them to know. The way I see it, media and government in Malaysia is like boyfriend and girlfriend. They support each other.

Malaysia and Democracy?
Democracy only on papers, that is what I think. If Malaysia is truly applying democracy as it claimed, there won't be people locked up in the ISA for expressing opinions that might somewhat jeopardize the gov's image. I don't study politics, so I don't freakin know how it works. Maybe it takes some dirtiness to stay longer in the politics world.

I love Malaysia.
Tanah tumpahnya darahku.

  1. Hi Aiman! Cane cuti2 anda?

Macam Aiman ckp, media report on benda2 baik je. Sebab ape? Sebab kita belum dpt full hak on what we call 'freedom of speech'.

Mungkin jalan yang terbaik, instead of reporting these kind of stories, news boleh ketengahkan isu-isu kemasyarakatan instead of politics sebagai cerita utama. Tak kata terus stopkan cerita politik tapi mungkin as side story.

Masyarakat sekarang dah bijak. Kita nak tengok isu yang sebenar, kejadian yang berlaku di sekeliling kita. Bukan kisah perebutan kuasa atau lawatan mana-mana pihak yang tak bawa makna kepada orang ramai rata-ratanya.

    Just my opinion though ;D
