Last week, a small party has been organized at my office to welcome a new rookie which is me. Taadahhhh. No dear, I am kidding. Actually, it is to welcome all new staffs that have recently joined the company . That includes me. So, there's a little welcoming session where we had to introduce ourselves to the old staffs. And then, we had delicious food and cakes for lunch.

Money talks

When you reached adulthood, when you have secured a steady job, when you received your monthly salary, how much would you keep as savings? I have been working for a couple of months now and I started to think about the percentage of income that I should save in order to be considered financially responsible.

Basically, our salary would go to paying electricity, water, phone bills, car and house rental. I know different people have different way of managing their salary. I mean, what comes first, what comes second and so on. Not everyone is lucky enough to be financially supported by parents, whether partly or fully. I always, always, always feel grateful that my father gives me a car so that I don't have to worry allocating some percentage of my salary just to pay for the vehicle. And I am ever grateful that I'm staying with my family, as for now, so I don't have to think about house rental like others. But when the time comes, I will be married and stay at another house. However as for now, car and house rental are not in my concern list.

While other people are working damn hard everyday just to find almost half of their salary goes to pay needed stuffs, I feel more than blessed to not have to worry about these things. Nevertheless, I have high awareness about future savings and because of that, I plan to save as much as I can monthly so that the money won't be wasted to satisfy my endless women needs such as clothing, handbags, shoes etc. I don't need that! (yeah right, we'll see). As much as I want to resist the feminine side of me, I failed miserably. It's hard to stop yourself from buying, especially when there's great sales at the shopping complex. Nothing is wrong with it. The most important thing is to know your limit, girls out there!

Some people are so hooked up with luxorious lifestyle. Eat at fancy restaurant, wear branded designer's clothings, drive expensive car. Whatever it is, save some portion of your salary. Wouldn't it be great when you have more than ten thousands in your bank account at the end of the day? Start saving, people. It's for your own good.

As much as I love the nature of my job, somehow sometimes my brain gets numb. I have no idea as to why it gets numb, slow, almost retard. Dear brain, please bear with me. And today I'm such a sleepy head. I feel sleepy all of sudden, could it be the super cold aircond? And my eyes gets blur, I hate staring at the computer screen from morning to evening.

Finding yourself working hard five days a week, and the only thing you wait to happen is to spend your weekend relaxing at home with family, or engaging in your love life. Whichever it is, we can never have enough time only for ourselves. Life itself is indeed demanding, yet full of colours and stories. Did I just make myself sounded lame? Teehehehe.

Equestrian for a day

Finally, I found a new hobby.

It's horseriding.

Sometimes bored with the cliche idea of spending the weekends watching movies at the cinema, or go for a karaoke session, why not say hello to the world of horseriding?

Moments before I hopped onto the big horse, I was really nervous thinking of falling down, or the horse might become wild because of my body weight. What a reason eh. Excitement kills all the nervousness once you get the hold of it. Feels like Quzandria Ambak for moments (teehehehe)

What a day, I had so much fun. Definitely should make horseriding a weekly outdoor activity.

Just figured it out, I love horse :)

As much as I resist to waste hundreds of bucks for a concert ticket, I finally ended up buying a pass to see Super Junior, here in Kuala Lumpur. This would be my second time, the first was in last year. Only managed to snap a few photos, because I'm so enchanted by the singing, the dancing, the whole feel of being in that big indoor stadium.

And there I sit at the end of the world. Far away from the stage.

I enjoyed the night. Thank you Super Junior.

Since I was in the secondary school, I found eternal comfort in sneaker, casual footwear. They aren't only comfortable, but also simple and looks youthful. This explains my collection of sneakers arranged on the shoe rack at home. Most of them are the old ones, bought during my diploma years. Everytime I pass by a shoe store, I can't help but to go inside and have a look. Once I set my eyes on a cool sneaker, there goes my money.

They're all worth buying, because I'm a loyal shoes wearer. I wear them until they become dirty, torn and in the end, end up looking like a vegetable.

For me, sneaker is timeless. It will always be a fashion. A trend. Always in, never outdated.

Well, I have been working for a month. My very first job since I graduated. There are so many things to be learned, so many things to contribute. My prayer is, everything will go smoothly.

A day or so before I started working, a question popped in my mind. What manner will it be if I wear a sneaker to work? That is the last thing that I would want to do. Having no appropriate footwear for work, I then decided to buy one. Thank you, mother for the lovely shoes.

For nearly a month, I have been putting this on everyday. Hopefully, I'll be wearing this for a very long time. Maybe until it becomes a vegetable, just like my old sneaker.

So many things going on lately, that I can''t find even a minute to post a new entry. Busy with work at the office, family weddings, being an awesome buddy, being an obedient daughter, being a dedicated worker (errrrr betul tak bos?), being so many things.

Yet, I am grateful for I am still here.

Writing stuff happened in my life.

Live life. Inhale the fresh air. Get to meet my loved ones (I love you dear)

On March 12, marks the solemnization of my beloved elder sister, kaklong. Right after that on the afternoon, people flocks in to the wedding reception at CAC banquet hall in IIUM. I fell deeply in love with the grand hall, especially the decoration of the pelamin, with all the pink and white roses. Got me mesmerized for seconds. I guess I was right when introducing the designer, Hazree Wahid to my mom.

We had a double wedding on that day, makes that 2 brides and 2 grooms celebrating the most wonderful moment of their lives (feels like crying, really, don't ask why). So, who's next? Hahahahaha.

The hall reminds me of old interior from France, Italy, somewhere there. Maybe the lights, maybe the dining table, maybe the composition of the photo itself.

Isn't this just lovely?

A visit to Kellie's Castle

This is what I do for the past few months, visiting places and places, indulging myself into the free time. Last week, I revisited Ipoh for the second time. Somehow, I love the city for its uniqueness, classical, almost old-school kind of feeling. You can see it from the architecture of the buildings, the names of the road etc. The main reason I come back here is because I have been longing to visit Kellie's Castle, the never unfinished mansion. Read the history here.

The mansion is really big, it takes more than an hour touring around.

Even if it is unfinished, the mansion looks great from the outside. Imagine it being completed, must be one great building huh.

The view from the top of the mansion is ever refreshing, with trees and plants around. This is actually the area for Kellie and his wife to enjoy the scenery.

The wall is made of bricks and more bricks.

Oh. One more place I would recommend you to visit is Memory Lane. The place is like uptown, but the only difference is it sells old, rare, vintage stuffs that you would never find anywhere else. The price is super cheap too. Go have a visit.

There are so many places in Malaysia I plan to visit. InsyaAllah.

Dress for comfort or dress to impress?

I'm quite observant in the sense that I enjoy watching people and how they dress to achieve a desired look. Be it on the street, in the shopping mall or at a wedding reception, our fellow Malaysian sure know how to dress up and be fashionable. I noticed that even girls with hijab have started to become trendy, experimenting fashion and various hijab styles. That being said, a question popped in my mind. I would like to ask you fellow readers, do you dress for comfort (very important) or do you dress to impress?

Say skinny jeans. I guess it is the it thing in being fashionable. From what I can tell, skinny jeans are very tight and looks uncomfortable. But still, ladies are so in love with it and it is being considered as a must-have item in the wardrobe. Pardon me, I do not have the slightest intention to say anything bad about skinny jeans, I'm only sharing my opinions. Most women always wanted to wear something that will make them stand out from the rest. And so to some people, comfort comes second. Anything that will make them look slimmer, taller, will always do. Right?

Seeing comfort in this kind of super high heels? Please girls, be nice to your ankle. You don't have to hurt yourself.

Most ladies would prefer skinny jeans because it'll make the legs appear slimmer, longer. Does it feel comfortable in this? I don't know, never wear one.

I am a strong believer of comfort comes first. Anything that feels comfortable on me, I'll put it on. Nevertheless, I still believe that ladies can be comfortably-fashionable. Simple example, wearing flat ballet will make you look oh-so-sweet. I love seeing ladies in flat shoes. Hehehehe.

Wear a white long maxi with these cutie. Trust me, you will look so so so adorable.

Another thing that comes to my mind when talking about being fashionable is your intention (niat). In Islam, we are encouraged to be modest in everything. Not more, not less. I know we all ladies, always have the temptation to wear fancy clothes, expensive shoes, designer's handbags etc. just to satisfy our fashion needs. But come to think of it, to whom are we dressed to impress? Friends? Men? Don't you think that will eventually makes us too proud of our own self? I used to be very shopaholics. I buy, buy and keep on buying. However, I am gradually trying to keep it low, buy less, and try to be satisfy with whatever I have now. I'm trying to be modest and as simple as I can be, just to ensure that I won't be too proud of myself. I wanna be average. What about you?

You know, our brain is weird. It got us thinking weird stuff beyond imagination. And no, I'm not talking about dirty stuff. Don't even go near that. I was driving home from somewhere when suddenly I become so emotional. I don't really know the reason for this irrelevant feeling. At times, I can be so emotional thinking about matters that are important in my life. To the extent that, even the best therapist in the world could not lift up my spirit by uttering some nice uplifting advices.

Are there any scientific evidence to justify what I feel?

If I may ask, do you ever feel the same? Do tell me if you, by any chance, ever feel the same way. When I'm trapped in a moment like this, I started to miss everyone. Family, friends, whoever. Maybe I should head to a fancy restaurant and have a great dinner just to console myself. Sounds like a loser eh? No, I don't think eating alone will make you look like a loser. It's something that is very common in the Europe, people eat alone at the cafe and nobody think it's weird. But here in the country, eating alone outside is always associated to being lonely or a loser. It's the people mentality, hard to change it. Anyway, good day everyone. Take care of yourself.

Sometimes everyone is so busy with their own life, problems, matters etc. that they couldn't care less about what is hitting people on the other side of the world. I myself used to be one of them too. However, through times, I started to realize that not everyone lives in a country free from landslides, earthquake, floods, tsunami, other natural disaster. Be grateful if you reside in a country free from natural disaster. It is somewhat heartbreaking to watch news in the tv showing kids crying over their loss, women mourning, people lost their home. Home is like everything in our life, it is more than just a place to cover us from the rain and the sun. While we have a decent life in our homeland, why not at least open our eyes and see. Get to know. Learn to appreciate.

Flooding in Brazil. Areas affected are Teresopolis, Nova Friburgo, Petropolis, Sumidouro etc. Flood caused by continuous heavy rains. Electricity, water supply, phone lines are all affected.

Flooding in Queensland and Victoria of Australia. Flood in Victoria is still on-going. Imagine having to clean a house covered of muds, dirts etc.

Another flood in Sri Lanka, the land used to be hit by the massive Tsunami back in 2004.

Flood again? Yes flooding in the Philippines since December 2010 until present. Some dies, some homeless.

Flooding in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe. Heave rains have led to the widespread flooding. Cars driving through the water.

I am in a fantasy world at the moment I'm writing this. And right now, I am a billionaire by the name of Bill Gates. I am super rich I have billions of bucks in the bank, in my pocket and under the pillow I sleep on every night. Having a crazy amount of money, now what would (or rather should) I do with that? Well. Oh well. Here it goes.

1. Give away free copies of original Windows 7. I have enough money already.

2. Stop inventing Windows. No wonder I look like a geek.

3. Speaking of geek, I should go for make-over. I wasn't born good looking, remember?

4. Travel around the globe. Africa. Asia. Europe. What's the personal jet for, right?

5. Go for a date with a lady who has a pair of beautiful eyes. Oh. Wow. Wee. Remember the make over? I am now more handsome than Brat Pitt. Brad Pitt. Bret Pitt. Which ever the speling is.

6. Filmed a movie based on true story. The title of the movie is How does a geek become a billionaire. What do you think, Mark Zuckerberg?

7. Sign up for a modelling class. Hey what's the laugh? So what if I am not tall enough? I have the money, remember. I can pay Tyra Banks, she can turn me into America's Next Top Model.

8. Buy the most comfortable bed for me to sleep on after a day of hard work. A good sleep ensures good health, remember?

9. Pay water bill, electricity bill, phone bill, kutu bill (also know as duit kutu hahaha) car rental, house rental etc. for my parents. Buy them a decent house, buy them a decent car, buy them plane tickets to anywhere they wish to visit, the list goes on.

10. Hire a personal doctor who can help me to live until I am 120 years old. Erk?

A date with nature

I went hiking yesterday. For the very first time after 24 years of living life. I always believe in the opportunities and chances to try new stuff, new activities that might not be my cup of tea. Also to the opportunity to make new friends, exercise the muscles, do good to the body, inhale the fresh air. The experience was very refreshing. Thank you Allah s.w.t. for blessing me with good health, for that I am able to hike hill, experience the jungle.

So, yeah I went hiking Bukit Tabur with some friends. You might be wondering so I tell you now, Bukit Tabur is near Taman Melawati. Click here for more info. Very excited at first but then along the way, I get exhausted, almost feel like giving up but doesn't want to appear like a loser in front of others (hehehehehe i'm too eager to see what's next, how it's like reaching the top). What can I say is almost 90% of the pathway is steep. Real steep you have to be extra careful in each steps you take. Thanx to someone who keeps reminding me to be careful (almost every minute :p), careful and careful. Not to scare you readers, there was a case where a Japanese tourist died here, believed to have slipped during hiking (if I've been told this prior to hiking, it would bother me, of course). I think it is important to share it with you, so that you can be alert and extra careful when you go hiking.

One thing I learned about hiking steep jungle, you have to bend yourself a little and set your hands on trees, hard branches, rocks or anything that helps you to climb further. Of course, your hands are gonna get quite rough by the time you reach the top, so be tough!

If you climb higher like I did, this is what you get. The view is clearer and of course, things are getting smaller.

This is Klang Gates Dam, the major supplier of drinking water to the residents of KL. The sky is dark, explains the windy weather during yesterday's hiking. The photo is raw, not edited at all to decrease brightness.

Like i said, if you climb higher, you get a breathtaking view. Worth every sweat.

I made it. Yay.

Next time I go climb a hill, I should bring with me at least two bottles of mineral water. I tell you, you gonna get very very thirsty along the way. This apply to both girls and guys, unless you think you can do without water, then that's fine. Bring sandwiches too, you can have them when you reached the top. Hehehe. For precaution, bring some oil and handplast, just in case you get a cut.

It's drizzling when I'm posting this. The sound of the rain is lovely. The smell of it is everly fresh and the feel of it is perfect to make me smile.

Waking up early today, I decided to post a new entry because I can't go back to sleep right after my subuh prayer as I felt a slight backpain in my back (oh yes dear, I'm getting older and that could be the reason why). I guess it could be due to my improper way of sleeping last night. I was in real pain for the past few days because my wisdom tooth (gigi bongsu) apparently stops growing. It grows only part of it through the gum bed and there you have it. A real pain. Aigoo aigoo. By the way, I don't have the slightest intention to bore you lovely readers (not that I have many) with my tooth story because this entry is not about tooth.

Today is January 6. The sixth day of 2011. Being a free person (not freemason), I have all the time in the world to read blogs. (Excuse me? You have all the time in the world and the best that you can do is read blogs? How pathetic is that?) Well, you may say whatever and think whatever. But for now, yes, I do read blogs and I think people out there are interesting, while some are weird and quirky. Ok. If it ever occur to you that blogging could be the best way to express yourself, then start blogging. Nothing is wrong with it, though some people think that bloggers are attention-seeking human being bragging about nothing but themselves. I'm totally fine with it.

The green trees and the blue sky. Dear Lord, I'm grateful for the life You have given me. There's many things in the world that I'm grateful for.

1. The trees. Doctors say green is good for the eyes. I am determined (superb vocabulary to indicate keazaman hahaha) to look at as many trees as possible so that they can gradually repair my vision. I'm short-sighted by the way.

2. The rain. I love the smell of the rain. It is my most favorite perfume ever.

3. My family. I can't do without them. I just can't. They are my precious.

4. Good food. Don't waste your food. You don't grow up in a poor country having to suffer hunger. So please do appreciate your food. No leftovers!

5. Five senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. Alhamdulillah. Kalau ada sixth sense, wah wah wah double Alhamdulillah. Hahaha.

6. The Internet. Are you laughing? I know. Do you know that people add their knowledge by googling and wikipedia-ing? I know you are one of them. Why not? It's one hella good source of info.

7. And to many other things which I can't seem to think of at the moment because my mother is calling for breakfast.

Actually, this new entry is supposed to brag about my new year resolution, about changes, about opportunities, about working hard, about being a good daughter and so many. I stop here and I will continue writing. Have a nice day people.

Forbidden City. It has four entrance, each is made for different level of people (according to Chinese interpretation)

This place is called Summer Palace. Did you see the water has become ice? The temperature is -6. I love this place, it is so serene.

This is the oldest mosque in Beijing. The name is Niu Jie Mosque, believed to have been around since year 996, but later was reconstructed.

I think this is similar to slum housing area. This can be seen when you're on top of the Great Wall of China. I think it is somewhat cool to live in a house near one of the seven wonders of the world.

The signage with translation, which is very convenient for non-Chinese tourists.

A day at Snow World. Get ready to fall down many times.

Although the people speak no English, Beijing trip was fun. Speak with body language, that is all it takes. The city is indeed very very big, explains the number of populations. And I noticed the roads are very large, each lines are wide. On working days, the traffics are bad. Really bad it slows everything down. And because I was here during winter, man it is freezing cold. I think it is colder as compared to my winter trip to Seoul, Korea last two years. But too bad, the snow isn't falling when I was in Beijing.

So yeah the tourist guide, his name is Ah Liang who happened to be a localman with a high proficiency of Indonesian language, takes us to many places of interest famous among tourists. To name a few, Forbidden City, Ti An Men Square, Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, Snow World, Niu Jie Mosque and a few others. We moved by a coach and later walk during arrival at these places. My most favorite place would be Summer Palace. An imperial garden with Chinese architecture. The place gives me some sort of calm feeling. And not to forget, The Great Wall which is very very long you can't possibly finished walking on it in one day. I've been to one of the seven wonders of the world. One down, six more to go? InsyaAllah.

What about the food? I love Beijing Muslim food, it is somewhat almost similar to Malaysian cooking. Most of the food are fried. Fried eggs, fried vegetables. But tell you what, in most meals, 7 out of the 10 dishes served are veges. It's true, no bluffing. So if you're not so fond of veges, screw it. You might end up eating rice with only fried eggs. Hahaha.

Seorang sahabat ajak menonton filem 'Harry Potter' bersama-sama. Ya. Harry Potter.

Lalu hamba menjawab "Hamba tak pernah tengok filem tu. Dari filem pertama sampai yang paling terbaru. Keenam atau ketujuh? Tapi boleh saja hamba temankan kamu".

Filem ini fenenoma di seluruh dunia. Tapi hamba sendiri tak tahu kenapa hamba tidak menonton filem ini. Jadi, kurang pasti storyline mengenai apa. Yang hamba tahu, filemnya mengenai seorang budak yang mempunyai kuasa ajaib. Kuasa apa? Hamba pun kurang pasti.

Mungkin hamba kurang berminat dengan filem berunsurkan fantasi. Lebih minat kepada filem-filem art seperti tema kemanusian. Lebih menyentuh emosi. Juga suka filem hantu atau thriller yang tidak melampau. Hehehehehehe.

Why make up stories to cover up all the politician's wrongdoings? I don't intend to be locked up in the ISA but lately, I hate watching primetime news on Malaysian TV's. Don't you think most of the stories are bullshit? Come on media people! You are carrying out a huge responsibility in telling people what they need to know, NOT what the government wants them to know. The way I see it, media and government in Malaysia is like boyfriend and girlfriend. They support each other.

Malaysia and Democracy?

Democracy only on papers, that is what I think. If Malaysia is truly applying democracy as it claimed, there won't be people locked up in the ISA for expressing opinions that might somewhat jeopardize the gov's image. I don't study politics, so I don't freakin know how it works. Maybe it takes some dirtiness to stay longer in the politics world.

Ironically, I've never been to any of the top beaches in my own country, except for Pangkor Island. What a waste!

Hectic life as an intern

I miss blogging.
Been busy working.
What did i do since i started my internship?
Well, learned and still learning lots of things.
Getting used to hectic life.
I have been attached to 2 programs for Hari Raya.

1. Trek Selebriti Raya - Kecohnya Bersama Aril

Shooting takes place in Jasin, Melaka.
3 days.
Basically, i do the time code.
Jotting down the time code for each shot.
So, gotta stand right next to the cameraman during the shooting.
And i also take care of the wardrobe.
This one, quite a simple task.
Scene mengejar ayam was really fun.
To be aired on 3rd day of raya, time tbc.

2. Odisi Raya MJ Lagi? (2 hours telemovie for Raya)

Shooting takes place in Puncak Jalil area.
9 days (up to 15 hours a day)
I do PA and conti.
I swear, doing tele was the hardest of all.
Your body gets really tired.
You work 17 hours a day just to finish 11 scenes.
And when you get a really fussy/perfectionist director, it drags everything.
But i have lots of fun seeing Zizan Raja Lawak.
He was a real funny guy.
To be aired on 1st day of Raya, Astro Ria, at 10 a.m.

Something to be remembered

Friends are to be cherished and appreciated

So yeah I went to PD and Malacca with crazy-fun-awesome classmates of mine. The main purpose of the trip is to have loads and loads of fun, before the term ends and everyone soon parts their own way. We all have come to the end of our Bachelor Degree study, and so I guess it's farewell time.

We went to beaches, sleep together, have meals together, went for some extreme games by the beaches and further to the sea. Boy it was lots of fun. And I couldn't forget the late-night chat session by the beach, where we formed a circle and started to talks about things, life, each other's dreams. So on and on. I can't hold the emotions any longer that I started to burst into tears, and later everyone did. Friendship. It's beautiful isn't it?

There's so many different people I met along the journey called life.And there will definitely be more in the future. People that i called friends. They come and go but memories with them will forever stay in my mind.

Who wouldn't love it? Bandung is well known for it's 3F, faster make your guesses. It's fun, food and of course fashion. I can do with the local food, really, no problem at all.

It's a shopping heaven I must say. Those who want to have a shopping experience where you can bargain up to 70%, shop for lots and lots of clothes at low cost, variety of choices, then go book your flight to Bandung.

Yes I am a sucker for Japan, Japanese series, Japanese food, Japanese language and all things Japanese. Enough said. I stumble upon an ads on Japanese Film Festival where obviously, you can watch films from the country, for free.

I'm so gonna fill this weekend with nihon stuffs, nihon no eiga, nihon no foods, nihon no uta, nihon no hiragana. Owh I still haven't finish the japanese writing. Hiragana got me confused all the time. It takes a lot of time and practice before one can master the Japanese alphabets. Kimbap

You need to turn the egss into omelette, fry the hotdogs, slice some cucumber, pickled radish (if you like it that way), crab sticks (all sliced into long strips) and cook the rice.

Spread rice onto the seaweed, arrange all the ingredients on the rice. Then start rolling and keep on rolling. Hehehe. Slice it to 8-10 portions. Serve it.

Out of sudden, I feel like making my own kimbap (Korean version of sushi). I've been influenced by the Korean Wave thingy and out of sudden, here I am practicing my long-abandoned culinary skill by making kimbap. It's not that hard to prepare the kimbap afterall, all you need is google by your side so you can browse pages for making kimbap, go to the supermarket to get the stuff needed and start chopping, cutting, frying, flipping etc.

My kimbap is good, if not the best.

Hahahaha.

This post is about football. I know it's a bit random. Staying up for the highly-anticipated game was really worth i reckon. MUFC just got served! The final score is 2-0. Donut Overdosed

I love donuts. They're so soft, melts like crazy. Chocolates are my fave, but the rest are lovely too.

Me and a friend bought 21 donuts today at Big Apple. Why 21? Because she had some free coupons. Awesome mowsome! And then we had some ice blended at Starbucks. Perfect for the hot weather! But it was raining today. Still, ice blended completes the day. We stayed for quite a while and have some chit chat. Talk and more talks.

Back at home, me continued eating donuts. Oh heaven !

Hit The Gym

I hit the gym today. Fitness Centre in PJ. My sister asked me to join her since she's a member. So I thought why not give it a try. What a good way to burn all the calories. So then I tried some of the facilities in the gym and sweat comes out pretty fast. I burned 144 calories for the first 30 minutes which equals to 2.68km walk. I rarely do exercises so it was pretty tiring for me. The instructor even invited us to join the yoga class. If you think yoga is easy, u might wanna think twice. It is so tiring. I can't even find balance by standing on one foot for more than 10 seconds. What a bad body balance.

The best part in the gym is the steam bath and sauna. I wish I have these at home. Easier to burn fat everyday without having to go out.
